Light hardwood option by request

Maple

Maple is a lighter hardwood option for pieces where a clean pale surface is more important than a dark rustic look.

Material character

How it feels in furniture

Maple tends to feel bright, calm and understated. Its pale colour can make a large piece feel visually lighter, while the timber still keeps natural movement and small marks.

The tree image is included as visual context. The exact species, board selection, colour and grain pattern depend on supplier availability and the timber chosen for the specific order.

Best for

Bright interiors and softer modern rustic rooms
Large media units where a dark timber would feel too heavy
Customers who want a pale natural wood direction
Simple forms where the clean surface is the focus

Strengths

Light, clean and airy visual character
Usually harder and denser than pine
Good for rooms where walnut would feel too dark
Works well with warm whites, stone, linen and pale flooring

Trade-offs

Can be more expensive and less readily available than pine
Pale timber can show dirt, marks and colour changes more visibly
Staining needs careful testing because light woods can react unevenly

Compared with other materials

Where Maple makes sense

Compared with Pine

Maple is cleaner and paler, with a more refined hardwood feel. Pine is warmer and more rustic.

Compared with Walnut

Maple keeps the room brighter. Walnut creates more contrast, richness and visual weight.
